Ketra and other Lutron intelligent fixtures require continuous, unswitched 120V power at the fixture. Dimming, color temperature, and color are controlled electronically at the fixture through the Lutron system rather than by a traditional wall dimmer.
For retrofits to existing lighting systems, an electrician will simply bypass the in-line switch and keep that wiring at the rear of the wall-box, while pulling the low voltage cable into the same wall-box and mounting the HomeWorks keypad to it.

Lighting circuits are home-run from each controlled load to centralized dimming or switching panels, rather than being routed through conventional wall-box dimmers. Low-voltage keypads provide user control, keeping walls clean while the centralized panels perform the actual load switching and dimming.

RadioRA 3 typically uses traditional line-voltage wiring, with Sunnata RF dimmers and switches installed in standard wall boxes and directly controlling their connected lighting loads. This makes it well suited for both new construction and retrofit applications without requiring centralized lighting panels.

REVI fixtures are low-voltage and home-run back to centralized REVI power and control equipment, eliminating the need to bring traditional 120V branch power to each fixture. Line-voltage power is concentrated at the centralized equipment, while low-voltage cabling distributes power and control to the individual fixtures.
