Palladiom Automated Shades:

When the Shade Becomes Part of the Architecture


Most shading systems are designed to disappear. Lutron Palladiom takes a different approach.

Palladiom was created for environments where the shade hardware itself deserves the same level of design consideration as the architecture, lighting controls, hardware, and furnishings surrounding it.

Rather than hiding the roller inside a traditional pocket or fascia, Palladiom can celebrate the mechanism through precisely crafted exposed brackets, refined materials, and an exceptionally clean architectural profile.


Shade brackets and hembars are available in genuine architectural materials, including solid aluminum and brass, and are designed to coordinate with the broader Palladiom family of keypads and controls.

The distinctive bottom rail is designed to visually align with the roller and bracket geometry, helping the mechanism appear remarkably clean when the shade is raised.


The effect is less like installing a conventional window shade and more like specifying architectural hardware for the window.


Palladiom Wire-Free Shades:

Architectural Design Without the Constraint of Pre-Wiring


Palladiom's design is also available in a wire-free configuration.


That creates an important opportunity in finished luxury homes where the architecture may never have been prewired for motorized shades.The wire-free system conceals its replaceable batteries within the shade assembly while maintaining Palladiom's minimal exposed aesthetic. Lutron specifies three-to-five-year battery life, depending on use, and designed the system so batteries can be accessed without removing the shade. The shades can span windows as large as approximately 12 feet wide by 12 feet tall in supported configurations, while maintaining precise alignment and quiet operation.


It is an unusual combination: The appearance of a highly architectural custom shading system with the installation flexibility of a wireless solution.


Palladiom Drapery:

A New Expression of Automated Drapery


For projects where the drapery hardware itself is intended to be visible, Lutron now extends the Palladiom design language into motorized drapery. Palladiom Drapery combines the slender appearance of a traditional decorative curtain rod with the quiet movement and precision of an automated track. Instead of treating the motorized track as something that must be concealed, the system turns it into a deliberate architectural detail.


The result is particularly well suited to luxury interiors where designers want the softness and drama of custom fabric without compromising the clean detailing expected from the rest of the home's controls and architectural hardware.


Lighting and Shades Are Better Together


The greatest benefit of automated shading becomes apparent when it is considered alongside the home's lighting system.
